Where is Northern Woods Wellness LLC located?

Do you offer outdoor therapy options?

Yes. When clinically appropriate and weather permitting, sessions can include outdoor activities such as walking, sitting in the grass, or engaging in nature-based mindfulness practices. This option can be discussed with your therapist.

 

How do you match clients with counselors?

We carefully match clients based on:

  • Clinical specialties and competencies

  • Schedule and availability

  • Client goals and preferences

We strive for the best possible fit, though matches may depend on provider schedules and availability.

 

What services do you provide?

We offer:

  • Trauma-sensitive counseling for individuals and couples

  • EMDR, TF-CBT, and mindfulness-based therapy

  • Life coaching and wellness support

  • Therapy for children (7+), adolescents, and adults

  • Support for grief, stress, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and life transitions

 

Do you offer community outreach?

Yes. We engage with our community through:

  • The Find Your True North Podcast & Vlog Series – offering mental health education, coping strategies, and real conversations

  • Local collaborative events (e.g., Young Professionals, YMCA, etc.)

 

Do you have an Internship Program?

Yes. Our Internship Program provides Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) graduate students with supervised, hands-on training in trauma-informed care, community outreach, and clinical skills.

 

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept many major insurance providers.
It is the client’s responsibility to verify directly with their insurance that:

  • Your clinician is in-network

  • Our service location (2194 Eastridge Center) is covered

All services remain the client’s financial responsibility, even when billed to insurance.

 

How is billing handled?

We use a third-party biller: Lakefront Billing Services.

Clients are responsible for:

  • Copays, deductibles, uncovered services, and out-of-pocket costs per your insurance payer

  • Late fees ($25 for overdue invoices)

 

What are your session costs?

Private/Self Pay:

  • Intake: $150

  • Individual: $140

  • Couples/Family: $140

Insurance:
Rates vary by plan; clients are responsible for all copays, coinsurance, and non-covered fees.

 

How do I schedule an appointment?

Appointments can be requested:

Important:
All intake paperwork must be completed in SimplePractice at least 24 hours before your appointment or the session may be canceled.

 

What is your cancellation and tardiness policy?

  • Cancellations: 24+ hours’ notice required or full session fee may apply

  • Late Arrivals: If 15+ minutes late, the appointment will be rescheduled

 

Do you see children?

Yes. We see children ages 7 and up and provide family support.

 

What can I expect in my first session?

We will:

  • Review your needs and goals

  • Begin building your treatment plan

  • Move at your pace in a safe, trauma-sensitive, and supportive environment

 

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. We follow HIPAA guidelines with legal exceptions (e.g., safety concerns).

 

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. Secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth is available for Wisconsin and Minnesota residents.

 

How can I contact my therapist between sessions?

  • Use SimplePractice’s secure messaging. Please Allow up to 48 business hours for replies.

  • Billing questions should go to Lakefront Billing Services (See contact above).

 

Do you prescribe medication?

No. We do not prescribe medication, but we can collaborate with your primary care provider or psychiatrist if you are exploring medication management.

 

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

Some of our clinicians offer evening and weekend availability. These times tend to fill quickly, so early scheduling is recommended.

 

Do you offer short-term or solution-focused therapy?

Yes. While many clients prefer ongoing care, we also offer focused, goal-oriented therapy for specific concerns.

Do you have certified life coaches?

Yes. We offer life coaching with a certified life coach to help with organizing your personal goals and stressors.

 

Can I bring a support person to my session?

Yes. In most cases, you may bring a support person, provided you discuss this with your therapist in advance.

 

Do you offer sliding scale or reduced rates?

We have limited reduced-rate options through our intern clinicians. Availability is based on need and program capacity.

 

Do you work with employers or EAP programs?

No. We do not participate in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).

 

What if I need a referral for a service you don’t provide?

We maintain a network of trusted community providers and will help connect you to additional resources if your needs extend beyond our scope.
